This project will integrate rooftop solar photovoltaic generation with a battery energy storage system (BESS). The microgrid's design will serve as an energy resilience example with its battery system storing the majority of the Public Works Facility's energy needs with up to a maximum of 25 KW net metered capacity. Project Location: Address: 80500 U.S. Hwy 40, Winter Park, CO 80482 The Winter Park Public Works building is located at 80500 US Highway 40 and serves as a critical hub for the Town's essential services. The 24,905 square foot property also includes surrounding areas vital for vehicle storage, staging and operational needs. The facility is located between downtown Winter Park and the privately-run Winter Park Resort, making critical service deployment easier. The microgrid will feature solar on the roof and battery storage inside the building or on the property. The location offers a strong foundation for integrating a resilient microgrid system.
