Location: This project starts at the intersection of Rangeline North Service Road and Halls Mill Road. The new water main will run north along the east side of Halls Mill Road approximately 900 feet. B. Description of Work: The intent of this project is to new install water main in order for the Owner to provide water and fire protection services to a proposed multifamily residential development. Obtain all necessary permitting required to complete the water main installation. This is a subsidiary obligation of the unit prices bid. The Contractor shall employ the services of a professional land surveyor licensed in the state of Alabama to locate the property corners, rights-of-way and proposed water main alignment prior to beginning construction. This is a subsidiary obligation of the unit prices bid. Install, maintain, and remove traffic control measures where needed. Install, maintain, and remove erosion control, as necessary. The Contractor shall develop an erosion control plan and provide the plan in a submittal. This is a subsidiary obligation of the unit prices bid. Install water main, encasement and appurtenances as shown on the project plans. Restore the project site to pre-existing conditions or better. Complete testing of all water mains. This is a subsidiary obligation of the various unit bid items. The Contractor's required work also includes procurement of permits and bonds, conformance with applicable permits and regulations, verifying exact locations of existing utilities, site preparation, clearing, grubbing and grading (where applicable), dewatering, materials, testing, and all other items necessary for a completely operational system, along with restoration of disturbed areas to preconstruction condition, including roadways, where applicable. Also included is the maintenance of the construction areas including erosion control, traffic control, and safety planning and implementation and all other related items in accordance with the project plans and specifications. Unless specifically stated otherwise, these items are a subsidiary obligation of the various Contract bid items.
