Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Battersea, Ontario. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
This project entails the comprehensive reconstruction of the Brass Point Swing and Fixed Bridges, located on Burnt Hills Road near Seeleys Bay, Ontario. These bridges provide an important link between the City of Kingston and the Township of South Frontenac. The Swing Bridge will undergo a complete replacement of its timber superstructure and mechanical/electrical components. Reconstruction of the pivot pier and west abutment will also be necessary, including elevation increases to extend its overall life expectancy. Concurrently, the Fixed Bridge will undergo repairs and recoating of its metal superstructure, replacement of timber stringers and deck, and elevation adjustments to align with the swing bridge. While the crossing will be closed to vehicular traffic during construction, it will remain open for navigation. * This project is being bid by invitation only.
