Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC), on behalf of Transport Canada is issuing this bid solicitation for replacement of mooring bollards at the Quai de La Romaine, Quebec. Some of the bollards at dock no. 3 at the port of Cap-aux-Meules, Quebec, no longer have adequate load-bearing capacity for ships moored there in high winds. Surveys have been carried out in the past, and it has been recommended that these bollards be rebuilt. The aim of this project is to replace the 30-ton bollards at dock no. 3 with similar 30-ton bollards. Implementation of the project will enable dock no. 3 to meet current needs without recourse to operational restrictions, while keeping it safe and efficient. The new bollards will enable efficient berthing for ships docking there, and will have a positive impact on port operations. No in-water works are planned for this project.
