Wayne County Board of Education (Owner) Will Receive Proposals Through Codell Construction Company (Construction Manager) to Furnish All Labor and Materials to Complete the Walker Early Learning Center (Renovation) (Bg #21-328) Located at 605 Albany Road, Monticello, KY 42633. Work is to Be Performed in Accordance With Plans, Specifications, and Addenda Prepared by Deco Architects, Inc. (Architect), GRW Engineers Inc. (M/e Engineer), Poage Engineering & Associates, Inc. (Structural Engineers) and Carman (Civil Engineer). The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive all informalities and/or technicalities where the best interest of the Owner can be served. Bid opening will be public, and contracts and direct purchase orders will be with the Owner. Each bid must be accompanied by a 5% Bid Bond. The bid will be submitted in duplicate on copies of the Form of Proposal located in the Volume One Project Manual Bidding and Contract Documents. Both copies of the Form of Proposal and Bid Bond shall be placed in a manila envelope and have the Project Name and Proposed Bid Package number affixed. No Bidder may withdraw a bid submitted for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening of bids. Questions should be directed to the Construction Manager and the Architect. The contract will include liquidated damages assessed at $1,000.00/day if the completion date is not met. Successful Bidders are required to furnish a 100% Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bond for this Project. The Following Bids Are Requested: Bid Package #01 - General Trades Bid Package #02 - Masonry Bid Package #03 - Structural Steel Bid Package #04 - Roofing Bid Package #05 - Gypsum Board & Acoustic Ceilings Bid Package #06 - Resilient Flooring Bid Package #07 - Tile Flooring Bid Package #08 - Resinous Flooring Bid Package #09 - Painting & Coatings Bid Package #10 - Aluminum Storefronts Bid Package #11 - Electrical Bid Package #12 - Mechanical & Plumbing Bid Package #13 - Site Work Bid Package #14 - Asphalt Paving A. The extent of concrete work shown on drawings. B. Concrete paving and walks are specified in Division 2 A. The total system balance shall be performed by an independent test and balance firm that specializes in testing and balancing of HVAC systems. B. This specialty firm shall perform the following: 1. On-going job site inspections of equipment, controls and metering devices during construction to verify conformance with design specifications. 2. Air System Balance a. Outside Air Systems b. Supply Air Systems c. Return Air Systems d. Exhaust Air Systems 3. Control Systems Verification A. Remove portions of existing building 1. Refer to Architectural Demo Series for full scope of work. a. Doors and Frames as indicated in drawing series. b. Walls and portions there-of as indicated in drawing series. c. Ceilings as indicated in drawing series. d. Windows as indicated in drawing series. e. Exterior canopies as indicated in drawing series. f. Casework as indicated in drawing series. g. Special equipment as indicated in drawing series. h. Flooring as indicated in drawing series. i. Removal of existing wall finishes as indicated in drawing series. 2. Refer to Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Site Utility demolition drawings for additional demolition scope of work.. B. Remove paving and curbs as required to accomplish new work. C. Within area of new construction, remove foundation walls and footings as indicated by Structural Engineer below finished grade. D. Outside area of new construction, remove foundation walls and footings as indicated by Structural Engineer below finished grade. E. Remove concrete slabs on grade as indicated on drawings. F. Remove manholes and manhole covers, curb inlets and catch basins as required for new construction. G. Remove fences and gates as required for new construction. H. Remove other items indicated, for salvage, relocation, and recycling. A. Work included in this section of the Specifications shall include the furnishing of all labor, material, tools, approvals, utility connection fees, excavation, backfill, and other equipment necessary to install the electrical system as shown on the Contract Drawings and as specified herein. B. It also includes installation and connection of all electrical utilization equipment included in this Contract but furnished by other contractors or suppliers. C. It is the general intent that all motors shall be furnished with the particular object of equipment it drives, except where a new motor is to be provided for an item of existing equipment (a replacement motor), then it shall be provided under this Division of the Specifications. D. The Contractor shall furnish and install all conduit, wire, disconnect switches and miscellaneous material to make all electrical connections to all items of utilization equipment or wiring devices except as otherwise specified. E. Equipment connections shall be made with flexible or rigid conduit as required. Controllers for motors, disconnect switches, and all control, protective and signal devices for motor circuits, except where such apparatus is furnished mounted and connected integrally with the motor driven equipment, shall be installed, connected and left in operating condition. The number and size of conductors between motors and control or protective apparatus shall be as required to obtain the operation described in these Specifications, and/or by the Contract Documents, and/or as shown in manufacturer furnished, Engineer reviewed Shop Drawings. F. All devices and items of electrical equipment, including those shown on the Contract Drawings but not specifically mentioned in the Specifications or those mentioned in the Specifications but not shown on the Contract Drawings, are to be furnished under this section of the specifications. Any such device or item of equipment, if not defined in quality, shall be equal to similar Equipment and/or devices specified herein. G. All devices and items of equipment mentioned in this section of the Specifications whether electrical or not or whether furnished under this or other Division of the Specifications, shall be installed under this Division of the Specifications, unless specifically indicated otherwise. H. Where wiring diagrams are not shown on the Contract Drawings, they are to be provided by the supplier of the equipment served and such diagrams shall be adhered to except as herein modified. I. The following is a list of items that may not be defined clearly on the Contract Drawings or in other parts of these Specifications. The list is meant to be an aid to the Contractor and is not necessarily a complete list of all work to be performed under this Contract: 1. Connect all motors and accessories furnished by equipment suppliers. 2. Furnish, install, and connect all motor controls. 3. Furnish, install, and connect lighting, indoor and outdoor. 4. Furnish, install, and connect all electrical conduit, duct and cables. 5. Furnish, install, and connect all power distribution equipment. 6. Abandon and remove all existing wiring and materials not to be reused in the renovated plant, as shown on the Contract Drawings. 7. Furnish and install fire alarm control panel, devices, and wiring. 8. All HVAC control wiring is by the Temperature Controls Contractor for Division 23. J. All raceways and wiring shall be fire stopped where required by code and/or indicated in the Contract Drawings, as specified in Section 078413.
