A new 1.1-mile section of the Green Crescent Trail along Berkeley Drive is scheduled to begin construction this fall and be completed by early 2026. Design Features: A 10-foot-wide cement path fully separated from the road by a raised curb. Designed to provide a safe, off-road space for walkers, runners, and cyclists. Connectivity: This section will link over 800 nearby homes to destinations like Ashley Dearing Park, Clemson Elementary, Clemson Park, and the original Green Crescent Trail. It will expand the trail network to 4.7 miles of continuous paths, connecting Clemson University, city parks, and schools. Safety Improvements: Addresses previous hazards like storm drains and lack of separation from traffic. Offers a safer route for children walking or biking to school. This project is included in the city's 2026 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of August 12, 2025, project expected to start Fall 2025. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
