The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation invites experienced design firms to submit qualifications to provide full architectural and engineering design services for the SBI/SHP Building 13 Boiler Plant Repairs. The SBI/SHP Building 13 is located at the Garner Road Complex in Raleigh, NC. Project will make major repairs to the boiler system which are long overdue, replace the building roof, and make miscellaneous repairs to the building to prevent water intrusion in the building. The SBI/SHP Garner Road campus is undergoing major improvements and construction for its master plan. The existing boiler plant is expected to continue to serve buildings on the campus for approximately the next 10 or more years, until all of the existing buildings are renovated and disconnected from the boiler system. Repairs to the boiler system and building are needed to ensure that the boiler system can continue to serve the campus for the next 10- 15 years. DOA facility personnel provided an assessment of needed boiler repairs which included removal of Boiler #1, replacement and relocation of condensate tank, replacement of boiler tubing for two boilers, and replacement of boiler controls. Designer will need to assess the facility in order to confirm the scope of work. Repairs to the building will include the replacement of existing builtup asphalt roof with new modified bitumen roof (approximately 2,000 SF) and minor site repairs at the perimeter of the building.
