Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Rockford, Illinois. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
The Auburn Street Corridor is a main thoroughfare on the northwest side of Rockford. The corridor is in dire need of roadway, pedestrian and bicycle improvements. Furthermore, the underground water utility is over 100 years old and warrants replacement. Using recommendations from the Auburn Street Corridor Study, the City is moving forward with various improvements to the corridor including roadway resurfacing, sidewalk upgrades, decorative elements, and safety improvements. The project is included in the City's 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of August 13, 2025, letting and construction expected in 2025. Engineering phase currently. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
