Renovation of an educational facility in Kent, Ohio. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Eastway Center Dining Renovations The Eastway Complex houses over 1,000 undergraduate students and features the largest dining venue for Culinary Services on the Kent Campus. Originally built in 1963, the venue underwent a major front-of-house renovation in 2018. This project focuses on assessing and estimating back-of-house needs, including storage, food production, and dishwashing operations. It also includes evaluating the feasibility of installing automatic turnstiles and gates at both entrances. Additional scope includes design review of seating, layout, perimeter lighting, furniture, and fixtures; assessment of restroom upgrades; and evaluation of hood systems for repair or replacement. A/E services may expand to full design services based on the finalized scope. The Division of Student Life has recently completed a Housing and Culinary Masterplan Study, and these findings will inform this design process.
