Site work and paving for a road / highway in Ohio Township, Ohio. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
All bidders must furnish, as a part of their bid, all materials, tools, labor, and equipment. Only ODOT prequalified contractors will be eligible to submit bids. Each bid must be accompanied by either a bid bond in an amount of 100% of the bid amount with a surety satisfactory to the aforesaid Gallia County or by certified check, cashier's check or letter of credit upon a solvent bank in an amount of not less than 10% of the bid amount in favor of the aforesaid Gallia County. Bid Bonds shall be accompanied by Proof of Authority of the official or agent signing the bond. Completion Date: 06-01-2026 Bids shall be sealed and marked as "BID FOR SWAN CREEK ROAD SLIP REPAIR" and mailed or delivered to: Gallia County Commissioners Office, 18 Locust Street, Room 1292 Gallipolis, Ohio 45631. Attention of bidders is called to all of the requirements contained in the bid packet, various insurance requirements, federal prevailing wage requirements, various equal opportunity provisions, and the requirement for a payment bond and performance bond of 100% of the contract price. No bidder may withdraw his bid within thirty (30) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Gallia County reserves the right to waive any informalities or reject any or all bids. THIS PROJECT CONSISTS OF THE REPAIR OF ONE LANDSLIDE NEAR MILE POST 2.6 OF COUNTY ROAD 152 - SWAN CREEK ROAD USING A 165' LONG "DRIVEN" H PILE SYSTEM WITH A STEEL RETAINING WALL, IN ACCORDANCE WITH STATE AND FEDERAL SPECIFICATIONS. THE MOVEMENT OF THE LANDSLIDE HAS PULLED AWAY THE INTEGRAL GROUND EMBANKMENT SUPPORTING THE ROADWAY, CAUSING ADDITIONAL DAMAGE TO THE ROADWAY SURFACE, SHOULDER AND RIGHT-OF-WAY AREAS. THE PILES WILL BE DRIVEN 5 FT ON-CENTER. THE EXCAVATED AREA WILL BE BACKFILLED WITH POROUS BACKFILL AND AGGREGATE BASE. THE ROADWAY WILL THEN BE PAVED WITH BASE, INTERMEDIATE, AND SURACE ASPHALT FOR THE FULL LENGTH OF 165 FT. IN ACCORDANCE WITH COUNTY AND STATE STANDARDS, GUARDRAIL WITH STEEL POSTS WILL BE PLACED ALONG THE RETAINING WALL AND ANCHOR ASSEMBLIES WILL BE INSTALLED AT ENDS. ALL WORK WILL BE PERFORMED WITHIN THE EXISTING RIGHTOF-WAY. TRAFFIC CONTROL SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE OHIO MANUAL OF UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES (OMUTCD) STANDARDS. The slip is approximately 165 feet in length, and the existing roadway is 24 feet in width. The contractor is permitted to close the road to traffic during construction. The contractor must provide access for property owners to their driveway at all times. Coordination of project activities with residents schedule may be necessary. Slip repair consists of: Pavement Removal Excavation & Benching- includes removal of existing wall and any additional structures, if any located or discovered Furnish and drive 34 pcs. HP12x53 Piling @ 40' lengths, 5' o.c. Furnish and drive 17 pcs. HP12x53 Deadmen @ 10' lengths, 10' o.c. Furnish and install 510' 1" Tieback Rods Furnish and install 1,650 sq. ft. steel backing (new or good-condition used, guardrail backing, deck backing, or 12 gauge ribbed) Granular Backfill, As Per Plan, 606 Tons- size shall range from Type D Rock to #4 stone and be determined by field conditions and placed as directed by the Engineer 12" 304 Aggregate base, 318 tons (165'x24') 4" 301 Asphalt Concrete Base, 96 tons (165'x24') 2.5" 448 Asphalt Concrete Intermediate Course, Type 1, 66 tons (165'x24') 1.25" 448 Asphalt Concrete Surface Course, Type 1, 30 tons (165'x24') Tack Coat, 22 gallons Furnish and install 165' Type 5, steel guardrail with plastic blockouts, Type A Anchors. Any increases in project item quantities required by project site conditions or at the direction of the Engineer shall be paid for at unit bid prices. No change orders shall be granted for any costs associated with an increase in item quantity, except for the additional quantity of the item itself multiplied by the unit bid cost. More specifically (but not limited to), there will be no changes orders for: additional item furnishment; shipping, trucking, or handling charges; additional equipment or labor for installation or placement; splices that may be required for additional piling lengths; increase in purchase or suppliers costs; additional overhead costs; or etc... Furthermore, any decreases in project item quantities required by project site conditions or at the direction of the Engineer will not be paid for. Items will be paid for at actual placement quantity multiplied by the unit bid cost. Payments, whether partial or otherwise, will not be made for items or portions of items unused or uninstalled. Change orders, extra work, and any increases in bid item quantities must receive prior approval before placement or work is done, otherwise, no payments will be made for said work. Attachments are:
