2025 Chester Township Street Resurfacing - Scope of work includes milling and resurfacing of roadways and ADA Curb Ramp Construction. The project is comprised of an approximate total of the following items of work: A. Maintenance and Protection of Traffic B. Mobilization C. 2 Asphalt Speed Humps D. 4,800 SY of Milling E. 45 SY of Superpave Mixture Base Repair F. 575 Tons of Superpave Mixture Wearing Course Overlay G. 5 ADA Compliant Curb Ramp Corners - Design Build Rainer Road from Powell Road to Worrilow Road. 1. Curb Ramps Construction. The curb ramp construction shall consist of the construction of one (1) new curb ramp corner at the intersection of Powell Road and Rainer Road, and four (4) new curb ramp corners at the intersection of Rainer Road and Worrilow Road. Curb ramp construction shall be in accordance with the applicable details from PennDOT Standards for Roadway Construction (Pub. 72M). 2. Asphalt Milling. Perform profile milling, 2" depth, of the existing pavement surface. 3. Base Repair. Test roll the milled surface and perform base repairs if and where directed by the Engineer. 4. Paving. Install new Superpave asphalt wearing course, 2" depth. 5. Striping and signage. All striping shall be replaced in kind, no separate payment. Worrilow Road from Rainer Road to end. 1. Asphalt Milling. Perform profile milling, 2" depth, of the existing pavement surface. 2. Base Repair. Test roll the milled surface and perform base repairs if and where directed by the Engineer. 3. Paving. Install new Superpave asphalt wearing course, 2" depth. 4. Striping and signage. All striping shall be replaced in kind, no separate payment. Bidders are required to submit a surety in the form of a bond or equivalent meeting 10% of the overall bid price in compliance with the contract documents. Bid bonds will be returned to the non-awarded bidders upon the execution of the contract. The successful Bidder shall also be required to provide a Performance and Payment Bonds in an amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount within ten (10) calendar days of receipt of written notice of acceptance of the Bid. This guarantee shall be provided in the form of a 24 month maintenance bond, guaranteeing the materials and workmanship for a period of 24 months. The Township reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to accept any portion of any bid, and to award Contracts as is deemed best for the Township.
