Renovation of a fire / police facility in Warrenville, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.

Warrenville Fire Protection District is accepting sealed bids for the refinishing of the fire apparatus floor at the District's Fire Station One. Any concerns about the interpretation of bid documents must be made in writing to the following email address: dinaa@warrenvillefire.com The Warrenville Fire Protection District reserves the right to reject any or all bids received, to waive any formalities or technicalities of the Bid or to reject any non-responsive bid in the interest of the Warrenville Fire Protection District . A completely clean floor surface is necessary for total adhesion to the base concrete; therefore, the following method will be used to prepare the floor before coating: The entire floor should be prepared by a mechanical, dust-free shot-blasting or grinding method. All electrical service shall be provided by the installer. Any spalling (chips), cracks, or exposed rebar must be repaired prior to the application of the new floor system. Exhaust Pits: Previously existing floor exhaust removal system pits will be backfilled and sealed to a smooth, level finish before the refinishing process begins. The installer will apply yellow line striping for vehicle parking and bay demarcation as specified by the customer. Expansion joints and cracks in the concrete floor surfaces will be filled to level with the surrounding floor surface by mechanically preparing, removing all debris, priming and filling to level with a flexible elastomeric compound. A 4-inch radius cove base shall be installed at the floor/wall junction where specified to create a seamless transition and prevent liquids from pooling at the base of the walls. Areas: Apparatus floor; to include hallways and entryways, hose tower, shop, and flammable liquid storage area. FLOOR COATING SPECIFICATIONS - Laminated Flake flooring system, Polyaspartic System, or similar The installer will provide an odorless, clear moisture induced penetrating primer/sealer to ensure the adhesion of the coating system to the floor with a non-yellowing, slip resistant, coating to the surface. An epoxy laminated flooring system should be an approximate 1/16" thickness. This should consist of 3 layers of 100% Epoxy Seal/Coat and 1 layer of a colored Flakes. Slip resistance will be customer's choice. Color selection to be customer's choice.
