**As of September 8,2025, project was awarded to Gulf Construction Company, awarded amount is $8,421.75.** The City of Foley is soliciting bids for the construction of roof canopy over an existing deck on a modular building that is located at 321 East Jessamine Avenue. The City of Foley reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive technical errors if, in the City's judgment, the best interests of the City will thereby be promoted. Provide labor and materials required to construct the following: -Treated wood framing for canopy over an existing 25' x 12' deck -T-111 sheet panels for soffit to be installed above the rafters -Lathe strips and metal roof sheeting -Brake metal Z-flashing from modular roof edge metal to canopy roof sheeting along the length of the west side of the canopy -Gutter and downspouts to be installed along the east eave of the canopy roof Note: *6" x 6" treated posts were installed in a previous contract but will need to be cut to height to allow for canopy roof slope, height to be field determined by owner. *Color samples for roof sheeting, flashing, gutters and downspouts to be provided by contractor with color choices TBD by owner. No questions will be addressed by any means other than email. Answers will be emailed to all bidders in the event that clarification is required. If further clarification is needed about a particular product bid or change within the bid, an Addendum will be emailed stating the change. All addendums must be acknowledged in the "Addendum Acknowledgment" section located on page 3 within this bid packet. Section 39-3-5, Code of Alabama, states that in the letting of public contracts in which any state, county or municipal funds are utilized, except those contracts funded in whole or in part with funds received from a federal agency, preference shall be given to resident contractors, and a nonresident bidder domiciled in a state having laws granting preference to local contractors shall be awarded Alabama public contracts only on the same basis as the nonresident bidder's state awards contracts to Alabama contractors bidding under similar circumstances; and resident contractors in Alabama, as defined in Section 39-2-12, be they corporate, individuals, or partnerships, are to be granted preference over nonresidents in awarding of contracts in the same manner and to the same extent as provided by the laws of the state of domicile of the nonresident. To be eligible for consideration, bids must be submitted on complete original forms found in the Invitation to Bid package. The entire bid packet and all executed bid forms must be submitted in a sealed envelope, clearly marked, identifying the bid, company information, general contractors license number and the date of the bid opening. It shall be the sole responsibility of the bidder to assure receipt of the bid at the Foley City Hall prior to the published time for the bid opening.
