Question Deadline 09/09/2025 Questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents shall be directed to Engineer. Major items of work: Water distribution system improvements including: 100 L.F. of 10", 8,400 L.F. of 8", 1,400 L.F. of 6", and 350 L.F. of 4" AWWA C900 PVC water line; 94 gate valves; 20 fire hydrants; 123 5/8" x 3/4" service connections; one 1" service connection; one 2" service connection; 1 service tie-in; telemetry system upgrades; water tower demolition; seeding and ROW restoration; erosion control; traffic control; and appurtenances. Project Funding - This project is funded by the Kansas Public Water Supply Loan Fund through the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE). Davis Bacon Wage Determination - Conditions of employment to be observed and minimum rates to be paid under the contract (Davis Bacon Act), Section 3 of 1968 Housing & Urban Development Act. American Iron and Steel - All of the iron and steel products used in the project must be produced in the United States. The term ''iron and steel products'' means the following products made primarily of iron or steel - lined or unlined pipes and fittings, manhole covers and other municipal castings, hydrants, tanks, flanges, pipe clamps and restraints, valves, structural steel, reinforced precast concrete, and construction materials. A Certification form must be submitted with the bid documents. Labor Standards - The prevailing wage rates of the State of Kansas apply to this contract as do any requirements of the State of Kansas associated with the use of these State Prevailing wages. The prevailing wage rates of the Department of Labor apply to this project. Bid security in the amount of 5 percent of the bid shall accompany each bid in accordance with Instructions to Bidders. Owner reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any or all bids. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60-days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
