The project involves the Design-Bid-Build construction of a two-bay aircraft hangar at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona. The facility will include a concrete foundation and floor slab, steel high bay structure, standing seam metal roof, cranes, motorized hangar doors and tracks, fire alarm and suppression systems with water storage tanks, and all necessary support infrastructure. It will house an aircraft maintenance unit with administrative areas, tool room, supply/bench stock area, storage, shop areas, emergency shower and eyewash stations, locker rooms with showers, break area, and other support spaces. A fleet service terminal for the displaced transient alert function will also be included. Additional features comprise overhead covered storage for mobility barn and maintenance squadron, airfield pavements for aircraft access, and a 500kW generator to support the maintenance operations center. The project includes demolition of Building 4809 and Building 4826, and construction of supporting facilities such as utilities, communications, parking, sidewalks, passive force protection measures, and site improvements. All work will comply with Department of Defense Unified Facilities Criteria and antiterrorism/force protection requirements. One 120-ton air conditioning unit is also required.
