Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Boston, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
We have over 2,000 existing bike racks on City of Boston sidewalks and plazas. We want to maintain a state of good repair for these assets. Over time, racks may become rusty, their mounting may fail, or they may get knocked over by motor vehicles. A successful respondent will be able to re-install racks that have become loose or unbolted from the surface; remove and dispose of bike racks that are rusted out, bent, or broken; and, where possible, replace them with a new rack. Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. Questions Due to the City Via email to Streetscontracts@boston.gov September 9th, 2025 at 1:00 PM BACKGROUND With this Invitation for Bids (IFB), we are hoping to maintain and expand the number of safe and convenient public places to park bicycles in Boston. We have over 2,000 existing bike racks on City of Boston sidewalks and plazas. We want to maintain a state of good repair for these assets. Over time, racks may become rusty, their mounting may fail, or they may get knocked out of place by motor vehicles. A successful respondent will be able to complete four types of actions, sometimes in combination, within the same work order: 1. Install new racks 2. Repair, adjust, or realign existing racks that have been hit or have become loose or unbolted from the surface 3. Remove racks that are rusted out, bent, or broken 4. Dispose of racks that have been removed and are not able to be reused. Residents can submit bike rack repair requests through 311, and we want a vendor who will help us promptly address repair and/or removal needs. In addition, we want to install new bike racks at key destinations identified by City of Boston staff or suggested by residents. Many of these racks will be mounted in-ground so they are secure and long-lasting. They will be installed according to our Bike Parking Guidelines. We look forward to receiving your bid. SCOPE OF SERVICES A. Work Assignment Tracking and Reporting in OpenGov Software A successful respondent will use the Boston Transportation Department's Asset Management system, Enterprise Asset Management (formerly "Cartegraph"), to access work assignments and upload photos of completed work. Access and training will be provided.
