The scope of work generally consists of the rehabilitation of an existing roadway using Full Depth Reclamation (FDR), along Oakwood Avenue between Main Street and Mojave Street. Work includes pulverization of the existing asphalt pavement for reuse as base, subgrade preparation; including earthwork, grading, and compaction of the reclaimed material; placement of a new polymer modified asphalt concrete base course and surface course. The project also includes all appurtenant work necessary to complete the roadway improvements in accordance with the plans and specifications. The Engineer's Estimate of Probable Costs is $1,300,000 and the time for completion of the work shall be sixty (60) calendar days. The successful Bidder shall be required to post a Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price and a Payment Bond (Labor and Materials Bond) equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. ALONG WITH THEIR BID, BIDDERS MUST SUBMIT cash, a cashier's check, a certified check, or a bidder's bond, payable to the City of Hesperia in an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the bid, as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into the contract if the same is awarded to the successful bidder, and in event of failure to enter into such contract said cash, cashier's check, certified check, or bond shall become the property of the City of Hesperia. The successful bidder will be required to enter into a contract satisfactory to the City of Hesperia. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any part(s) thereof, to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bid or in the bid process, and to make a contract award in the best interest of the City.
