A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** The City of Pembroke Pines is seeking bids from qualified firms, hereinafter referred to as the Contractor, to install pet-friendly artificial turf at the Main Police Station, in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications contained in this solicitation. We are requesting a bid for the installation of pet-friendly artificial turf at our Main Police Station. Please refer to the project details and scope of work outlined below to assist in preparing your proposal. Please ensure your quote is based on a turf product that meets the specifications outlined in the scope of work, so that we may compare proposals on an equal basis. Question Due Date: August 25, 2025, 2:00pm 1.1. Scope of work General Notes: Turf area is approximately 1950 sq ft. Minimum Material Standards (Sub-base): Remove all existing vegetation from the site. Excavate at least 4"-6" of dry ground. Construct a proper subbase, including: Compacted crushed stone or gravel Topping layer of sand or granite fines for leveling and drainage Ensure a slight slope is maintained to direct water away from the turf Do not use nails or staples to secure the turf edges due to pet use. Turf must be suitable for full sun exposure and heavy pet activity, including running and bathroom use. Include odor control solutions, such as deodorizing infill (e.g., zeolite-based or Envirofill) or a maintenance plan to prevent odor buildup. Minimum Material Standards (Turf): Specification Requirement Turf Fiber: Polyethylene or nylon Pile Height: Minimum: 1.25" - Maximum: 2" (shorter preferred for cleaning) Face Weight: Minimum: 40 oz/sq yd - higher density preferred Backing: Polyurethane (preferred for water resistance and durability) Infill: Must be antimicrobial, pet-safe, and odor-controlling Drainage: Turf must support at least 30" per hour drainage rate UV Resistance: Turf must be UV-stabilized for direct sun exposure Durability: Turf must be rated for high-traffic, pet-specific use Product Warranty: Minimum 15-year manufacturer warranty Installation Warranty: Minimum 1-year workmanship warranty Additional Requirements: Permitting: A permit is required and must be submitted to our Engineering Department for review.
