Site work and paving for a civil project in Des Moines, Washington. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.

This project includes Schedules A and B. Schedule A includes, but is not limited to, the open-cut installa-tion of approximately 2,500 feet of 16" PVC C900,DR-18 and 335 feet of 16" DI CL 52 force main in 16th Avenue S. from District's existing lift station west of S. 251st Place north to roughly S. 236th Place. Schedule A also includes the installation of rough-ly 230 feet of 16" PVC C900 in a 24" casing to be installed on the bridge of McSorely Creek imme-diately north of S. 251st Place. Furthermore, included in this schedule is the installation of 11 gravity sewer manholes and 2,045 feet of 21" PVC gravity pipe, and 5 sewer manholes for the installation of clean-outs and air and vacuum relief assemblies for the force main. Other work associated with this schedule is traffic and erosion control, trenching, saw-cutting, asphalt patching, asphalt driveway grind and overlay, and replacement of a chain-link fence and vehicle gate. Schedule B involves the asphalt grind and overlay of 16th Avenue S. and includes, but is not limited to the replacement striping and raised pavement markers, edge restoration, thickened edge replacement, and traffic control associated with Schedule B. This project requires the use of apprentices for 15% of the labor. Both an incentive and a penalty are provided to encourage meeting apprenticeship requirements. The District will provide a full-time inspector to oversee the casting and the force main and gravity sewer installation. The Contractor is required to provide a third party for compaction testing. The check or Bid Bond shall be given as guarantee that the Bidder shall execute the Contract, if it be awarded to such Bidder, in confor-mity with the Contract Documents and that the Bidder shall provide Surety Bond or Bonds as speci-fied therein within ten (10) cal-endar days after notification of the award of the Contract to the Bidder. Midway Sewer District, King County, Washington, reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive irregularities or informali-ties in the Bid or in the Bidding, and to give particular attention to the qualifications of the Bidder. No Bidder may withdraw a bid after the hour set for the open-ing thereof, or before award of Contract, unless said award is delayed for a period exceeding ninety (90) days from the date of bid opening.
