Agency for Developmental Disabilities (PCADD) is currently accepting bids for removal and replacement of chain link fencing at The Learning Center playground area in Bowling Green MO. PCADD reserves the right to reject any or all bids Or to waive technically At Its Sole Direction. Please note that only certain deteriorating sections ofthe existing chain link fencing at the TLC playground are to be removed and replaced. Please schedule an appointment to view the specific areas offencing to be removed/replaced, and to take necessary measurements. Please call 573 - 324-5153 to make an appointment. The approximate length offencing to be removed/replaced is 324 feet, but the vendor is responsible to verify and identify the quantity as part oftheir bid response by taking measurements. Unless otherwise noted in the specifications below, chain link fencing that is to be installed shall minimally comply with ASTM F2049-11, "Standard Safety Performance Specification for Fences/Barriers for Public, Commercial, and Multifamily Residential Use Outdoor Play Areas". Work to be completed: o Remove and dispose of existing sections of chain link fencing and concrete footings o Provide material, concrete footings, and installation for a 4' high galvanized steel chain link fence Mesh Specifications o Mesh Size: mesh opening of 1 % inch (31.8 mm) between parallel sides. The horizontal measurement between comers must not exceed 1% inch (44.5 mm). o Material: 9-gauge steel wire o Coating and Finish: Galvanized o Selvage Edge: knuckle-to-knuckle edge Fence Height and Clearance o Height: 48 inches o Ground Clearance: The bottom ofthe fence fabric should maintain a maximum ground clearance of2 inches. Post and Rail Specifications o Post Diameter line posts- 2-3/8"; terminal posts- 2-7/8" o End caps for all posts o Top Rail Diameter 1 -5/8 " diameter. o Wall thickness: 14 gauge o Posts should be spaced no more than 10 feet apart Gates: o Two (2) 6' gates o Two (2) 4' gates o Two (2) 5'gates o Latches: Any gates used for access must have latches at least 48 inches high. o Gates must open outward from the play area and be self-closing and self-latching. Tension Wires: o Tension wires threaded through the fabric and secured to the posts using tension bands and carriage bolts. Tension wire to be stretched taut, independently and prior to the fabric, between the terminal posts and secured to the terminal post using a brace band. Secure the tension wire to each line post with a tie wire. o Tie Wires: Tie wires to attach the fabric to the posts, with two full turns twisted to prevent injury. o Secure the fabric to the top rail with ties spaced every 24 inches. Attach ties to the line posts every 12 inches. Mise. o Approximate length ofthe fencing to be removed/replaced is 324 feet, but the vendor is responsible to verify and identify the quantity as part oftheir bid response by taking measurements. Posts shall be set plumb in concrete footings in accordance with ASTM F567. A minimum of 30" depth required. o Tension wires shall be installed 4 in. up from the bottom ofthe fabric. o Vendor is responsible for calling for utility locate prior to installation beginning. o Vendor must submit for permit, ifrequired. PCADD will directly pay all permitting fees and should not be included in the bid price. o Vendor must demonstrate successful experience installing similar projects and products in accordance with ASTM and have at least 5 years' experience. Provide the year in which the company was founded and a list ofsimilar projects as part ofthe bid packet o Vendor must include a 1-year limited warranty on the labor and a 20-year warranty on the chain link and fabric material o The successful bidder shall deliver the project within 180 days ofthe bid award date. If the successful bidder fails to deliver within the time specified, a sum of$25.00 per unit per day shall be forfeited to the PCADD as liquidated damages.
