Demolition, site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Catonsville, Maryland. Completed plans call for the demolition of a fire / police facility; for the construction of a 25,300-square-foot, one-story above grade fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.
The project includes the construction of a new five-bay pull-through fire station and associated site development on the 6+/- acre site located at 736 Edmondson Avenue in Catonsville, MD. The building will consist of a single-story building measuring approximately 25,300 GSF with a 1,100 GSF mezzanine within the Apparatus Bay and an un-conditioned 4-story Training Tower that has a 400 GSF footprint. The site has two remaining dwellings and other miscellaneous garage and shed structures that will be demolished as part of the site work prior to construction of the new fire station building. There may be up to 3,100 cubic yards of unsuitable soil on site. The unsuitable soils shall be cut and replaced with suitable material from the contract export. If adequate quantities of suitable fill are not available on site, suitable fill shall be imported. This is a wage rate project. MBE participation is encouraged.
