Services of a Contractor to perform cleaning and removal of grit and sludge on the Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) tanks 1 and 2 at the Rotonda Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) Any questions can be answered by contacting Chastity Williams, Contract Specialist at 941.743.1548 or email: Chastity.Williams@charlottecountyfl.gov. It is the intent of Charlotte County Utilities (CCU) to secure the services of a Contractor to perform cleaning and removal of grit and sludge on the Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) tanks 1 and 2 at the Rotonda Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) located at 3740 Kendall Road, Rotonda West, Florida 33947. The tanks are above-ground tanks with dimensions of: Length: 46’4”, width: 10’, and height: 17’. Contractor must use a Vacuum suction truck with a telescopic boom to be able to reach the tanks. Contractor will be responsible for the safe disposal of the grit and sludge removed from the tanks. Contractor will be responsible for ensuring all electrical equipment has been properly isolated and locked out/tagout. Contractor will ensure all confined space entry procedures are followed (gas detection, ventilation, harness, standby person). Contractor will be responsible for providing and wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Contractor will always communicate with the plant operator. Plant staff will drain the MBR tanks to a low level before the day of the cleaning. West Port WRF will be the location for disposal of the grit and sludge collected from the tanks.
