Site work and renovation of a municipal facility in Delano, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
**As of October 8, 2025 , this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on October 20, 2025.** The work includes the remodel and renovation of the existing Child Care Center at the former Methodist Church, to be transformed into the Delano Civic Hall Center. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to: Construction of a large open event center Installation of a warming kitchen Construction and modernization of restroom facilities Installation of a new roof system Facade improvements to enhance aesthetics and accessibility Complete upgrade of the electrical and mechanical systems Installation of a new backup generator system All work shall be performed in accordance with the plans, specifications, and contract documents prepared for this project. The work involves the remodel of an existing classroom building located at 1002 Eleventh Avenue, on the south side of the old Methodist Church campus as described in the project plans and specifications. The existing structure is approximately 8,300 square feet. All interior finishes and exterior wall finishes have been removed as a part of a previous asbestos abatement project. Improvements include an exterior facelift intended to make the new Civic Hall resemble the architectural style of the existing church and an interior remodel creating a new Civic Hall for future gathering events. The building's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems will be upgraded and modernized to meet current code and energy requirements. Site work includes a new block wall, flatwork, trash enclosure, and an emergency generator with enclosure. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or a bidder's bond in the amount of 10% of the total bid amount. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the contract price. This project is subject to the State of California Department of Industrial Relations prevailing wage requirements and regulations. All contractors and subcontractors must be registered with the DIR prior to bidding and during the course of the project. The City of Delano reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bid or in the bidding process, and to make awards in the best interest of the City. Estimated Project Cost Range: $ 3.0M to $3.5M Within a period of 45 calendar days after the opening of bids, the city will accept or reject the bids. The City plans to issue a "Notice to Proceed" within 60 days after the bid has been awarded. The project shall be substantially completed within 270 calendar days.
