Renovation of a municipal facility in Boonville, Missouri. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a 8,720-square-foot, one-story above grade municipal facility.
The City of Boonville is requesting proposals from qualified firms to assist with Phase 1 Cultural Resource Survey at FT Kemper Park. In 2003, the City of Boonville purchased the closed Kemper Military Academy campus following its bankruptcy. In 2024, City of Boonville received funds from the Missouri Department of Economic Development Community Development Block Grant Program for renova ons to the former Kemper's former Academic Hall. The two main project components include renova ons to Academic Hall and an addi on to Academic Hall. Academic Hall is a three-story exis ng building that consists of classrooms on the lower, middle and upper levels. Each of the buildings' floors is 4,452 SF per floor. The construc on of the exis ng building consists of load bearing brick masonry exterior and interior walls and wood framed floor and roof structure. There will be extensive interior renova ons to the exis ng building. The proposed building addi on will connect to Academic Hall and will be one story totaling 8,720 SF. The addi on will consist of a Mul -Purpose Room, Kitchen, Storage, Restrooms and Offices. The connec on between the new and exis ng will include a new three stop elevator that will make all levels accessible. The Construc on will be load-bearing CMU walls interior and exterior. The exterior finish will be brick and stone masonry to match the exis ng building. The roof structure will be bar joist/metal deck, insula on and membrane roofing. The goal is to renovate and re-purpose the exis ng building into a daycare facility to be used by Boonslick YMCA. The design governing the project will be retained and will match the original design elements of Academic Hall while also installing some more modern requirements such as an ADA compliant ramp and elevator. The proposed elevator will be a 3-level elevator and elevator lobby connec ng the exis ng building to the proposed addi on. Scope of Work: The consultant shall complete, in a professional and timely manner, a Phase I Cultural Resource Survey in support to the owner's Community Block Grant Program funded project. Such actions shall be performed in a manner compliant with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) guidelines for a Phase I Cultural Survey as well as Secretary of the Interior regulations and Osage Nation guidelines hereunder as outlined as part of the initial request for proposals.
