This Request for Proposal ("RFP") identifies a business opportunity for the successful proponent to provide electrical construction services pertaining to the berth life extensions at the Nanaimo Harbour and Gabriola (Descanso Bay) terminals. Scope of Work includes: Nanaimo Harbour Replace the outdoor ramp electrical kiosk with 600V and 120/208V distribution equipment, motor control and lighting control. Replace existing feeders from the abutment to the ramp. Replace the outdoor enclosed 30kVA transformer and modify to provide 600V power for ramp and apron motors. Replace the ramp and apron motor starters and motors with 600V rated equipment. Replace the ramp and apron motors local disconnect switches and local Start/Stop control stations with new 600V disconnects, as part of the motors 600V upgrade. Remove the existing shore to ship power panel. Upgrade the ship to shore cable reel and manual transfer switch (MTS) to a retractable cable reel and automatic transfer switch (ATS) system. Replace the existing tethered apron pendant with a combination of new wired and wireless apron pendants that meet the BCF Industrial Controls Standard. Replace trestle and ramp pole top luminaires, pin lights, traffic and pedestrian gates and controls. Replace cable tray, cables and relocate cables in the trestle/ramp cable tray. Provision of new tray bond and ramp system ground conductor. Remove vehicle over height sensors. Gabriola (Descanso Bay) Replace the existing electrical distribution equipment with new 600V and 120/208V distribution equipment, motor control and lighting control. Replace existing feeders. Replace the washroom panelboard. Replace the outdoor enclosed 30kVA transformer and modify to provide 600V power for ramp and apron motors. Replace the ramp and apron motor starters and motors with 600V rated equipment. Replace the ramp and apron motors local disconnect switches and local Start/Stop control stations with new 600V disconnects, as part of the motors 600V upgrade. Upgrade the ship to shore cable reel and manual transfer switch (MTS) to a retractable cable reel and automatic transfer switch (ATS) system. Upgrade feeder circuit breaker for the shore power receptacles panel. Replace the existing tethered apron pendant with a combination of new wired and wireless apron pendants that meet the BCF Industrial Controls Standard Replace parking lot pole lighting luminaires on existing poles with the current BC Ferries standard luminaires. Replace cable tray, cables and relocate cables in the ramp cable tray. Provision of new tray bond and ramp system ground conductor. Remove vehicle over height sensors.
