The El Monte City School District is seeking Statements of Qualifications from qualified architectural firms to provide professional services on an as-needed basis for facilities projects of varying types and sizes. Services may include architectural design, interior design, site planning, civil engineering, structural engineering, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering, project management, and construction administration necessary to complete new construction, modernization, renovation, and site improvement projects. Firms selected through this RFQ will form a prequalified pool from which the District may assign work as projects arise. The District anticipates several projects in the near future that may require services from the pre-qualified pool. While not an exhaustive list, the following projects are currently in the early planning phase: HVAC Renovation Project: This project involves targeted HVAC renovations and system replacements at a specific school to address aging infrastructure and meet current comfort, maintenance, and operational standards for Cortada School and Rio Hondo School. Playground(s) Replacement: This project will involve the design and installation of new, modern playground equipment that meets all current safety standards and is compliant with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. The Planetbids Electronic Bid System will close exactly at the time outlined in the Notice Inviting Bid. Any bid that is submitted after this time shall be nonresponsive and returned to the bidder. Each bidder is solely responsible for timely submission of its bid; the District is not responsible for any technological issues in a bidder's ability to timely submit its bid or portion thereof. A Bidder and its subcontractors must possess the appropriate State of California contractors' license and must maintain the license throughout the duration of the project. Bidders must also be registered as a public works contractor with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to the Labor Code. Bids submitted by a contractor who is not properly licensed or registered shall be deemed nonresponsive and will not be considered.
