Renovation of a fire / police facility in Roosevelt, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.
Contract #2 - Plumbing and Fire Sprinkler Work. Bids must be made on the proposal form provided in the manner designated therein and as required by the specifications. Bids must be enclosed in sealed opaque envelopes bearing the name of the project, contract number, project number, name and address of the bidder on the outside, addressed . Each proposal submitted must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, made payable to the "Roosevelt fire district", in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid, as a commitment by the bidder that, if its bid is accepted, it will enter into a contract to perform the work and will execute such further security as may be required for the faithful performance of the contract. Certification of bonding company is required for this bid, see instructions for bidders. The roosevelt fire district requests that each contractor make a good faith effort to award work to l/m/wbe contractors and continue to make best efforts to increase that percentage during the construction process. To further our commitment to the utilization of local minority and women business enterprise firms, we have collaborated with our construction manager, and other agencies, to assist in providing recommendations with respect to possible nassau county based contractors/subcontractors. Each bidder shall agree to hold its bid price for forty-five (45) days after the formal bid opening, except as permitted by general municipal law 103(11). It is the board's intention to award the contract(s) to the lowest qualified and responsible bidder(s) in compliance with the specifications providing the required security who can meet the experience, technical and budget requirements. The board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive any informality and to accept such bid which, in the opinion of the board, is in the best interests of the fire district. The project value listed reflects the total project estimate. Goals to be achieved for each Prime Contractor: 20% MWBE firm participation
