The Borough of Deer Lake will receive sealed bids from qualified entities for collection and disposal of refuse and recyclables in the Borough of Deer Lake for a one (1) year period, a two (2) year period and/or a three (3) year period. All submitted bids shall be clearly marked: "REFUSE COLLECTION BID, BOROUGH OF DEER LAKE". All submitted bids shall be sealed, submitted on the Bid Form, and accompanied by an executed Questions can be directed to the Boroughs Secretary Sallie Yost at 570-968-4633. Affidavit of Non-Collusion and bid security as described below. The Borough assumes no responsibility for bids mailed but not received. The actual items of work to be performed are identified in the Instructions to Bidders form and the Contract Documents. Each bid must be accompanied by a money order, certified check, or cashiers check payable to Borough of Deer Lake and drawn upon a bank authorized to do business in this Commonwealth, or by a satisfactory bond with corporate surety authorized to do business in this Commonwealth and made payable to or in favor of the Borough of Deer Lake, in an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the total bid of the highest bid option selected. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory performance bond, or other security with sufficient surety, in the amount of One Hundred percent (100%) of the contract price within twenty (20) days of the notice of award of the Contract. Deer Lake Borough will award the bid or reject all bids within sixty (60) days of the bid opening. The Borough of Deer Lake reserves the unqualified right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids or to reject any or all items or portions thereof. Bids may be withdrawn on written request from the bidder and delivered to Deer Lake Borough prior to the time fixed for opening.
