Renovation of a laboratory facility in Beltsville, Maryland. Completed plans call for the renovation of a laboratory facility.

The Contractor shall furnish all equipment, materials, and labor required to perform three mechanical services. For backflow preventers, the Contractor shall supply and install two 8" Zurn/Wilkins or equivalent units, one 4" unit, and one 1.5" unit. For main gate valves, the Contractor shall supply and install two 8" valves on the effluent side of the backflow preventers, and replace two 8" flanged ductile 90's, one 8" tee, and seven bolt and gasket kits. This work must be completed during off hours. For chiller pipe replacement, the Contractor shall remove and replace up to 8 feet of leaking 10-inch schedule 40 welded pipe in the ceiling of the chiller room, which requires disconnecting the chemical feed line. Two new thread-o-lets shall be installed, with one plugged off and the other connected to the new chemical line. The schedule 80 PVC shall be replaced back to the ball valve using new split rings. Leak checks must be performed and monitored by building engineers for 24 hours prior to insulation. New insulation and wrapping shall be installed and tied into existing piping. Plastic vinyl 90's may be reused if undamaged. A smoke eater must be used during all welding, grinding, cutting, and torching, and necessary fire safety equipment must be provided. Building engineers must be informed when fire or sparks will occur. Chiller Pipe Replacement o Replace the IO-inch schedule 40-weld pipe (up to 8 feet) that is leaking in the ceiling of the chiller room. o Remove the section of IO-inch schedule 40 weld pipe (up to 8 feet) Tis will require disconnecting the chemical feed line. o Install 2 new thread-o-lets, plug one off and connect the new chemical line. o Replace the schedule 80 PVC all the way back to the ball valve with new split rings. o Leak checked to be performed and monitored by building engineers for 24 hours before insulating o Install new insulation and wrapping over new pipe and tie into existing. o The plastic vinyl 90's may be reused if not damaged during removal Line Period of Performance: 09/15/2025 - 09/14/2026 ATF POC: Brandon Hodnett/Brandon.Hodnett@ATF.gov
