Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Galloway, Ohio. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

Questions relating to any matter contained in this Request for Quotes or for site access, should be directed to: Logan Dunn, Assistant Resource Manager E-mail: lrdunn@metroparks.net. Variety of trees and shrubs planted at Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park. The goal is to plant 200 stems per acre, using a mix of Ohio Native Trees and Shrubs in 1-3 Gallon Container size. Project History and Information: Metro Parks aims to manage the available resource base in a manner that provides the optimal amount of quality habitat, preserves or restores the composition of the native communities, and benefits the largest diversity of native species possible. Unfortunately, several invasive species occur throughout the Metro Parks that challenge this goal by compromising habitat health and species diversity. The properties selected for this bid project require native plantings in order to restore native plant communities and prevent future invasive species encroachment. The 5 acres of the property at Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park lie directly East of Harrisburg Georges Ville Rd. and North of Harrisburg Pike. Reforestation will help protect natural habitats from invasive species encroachment, aesthetics to visitors of the park and assist with the restoration of native early successional woodland. To reintroduce and encourage the growth of various native trees and shrubs in specific areas to deter invasive species encroachment and assist with the restoration of native early successional woodland. Retention rate of at least 80% of plantings in each location. Monitoring methods to determine success rate will be performed between May 1 -June 15th of the following year, selecting a random plot per acre for a total of 7 plots. Each randomly selected plot will consist of a total size of a 10m x 10m square, counting each tree/shrub within those plots. We will then add the totals of each plot from both site #1 and Site #2 and then correlate that against the final planting number for an overall percentage of survivorship. : Plant specified trees and shrubs (1 to 3-gallon containerized specimens) at the highest density in order to achieve the aforementioned 200 stems per acre, within the designated areas, with each species not to exceed 10% of the total amount of trees or shrubs. Additionally, the percentages of trees to shrubs as a total composition will be 70% Trees to 30% Shrubs. Each reforestation site will have tree and shrub species from the reference list provided. Trees and shrubs will be planted and evenly dispersed throughout each location with a diversity of species used. Care should be taken to protect any native trees and shrubs currently on the site as they will be incorporated into the reforestation efforts. Planting shall take place during the fall months of September through December 2025. Contractors should only use designated ingress/egress points at the property to reduce the impact of soil compaction and stress on understory plants. The tree and shrub reforestation efforts at Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park will occur on a total of 5 acres. The parcel is located East of Harrisburg Georges Ville Rd. and North of Harrisburg Pike. The number of crew and equipment should be adequate to complete the job during the project timeline. See map for project location. Metro Parks may reduce/increase the number of acres to follow budget goals. Three most recent references from previous jobs planting shrubs or reforesting natural habitats of more than one acre should be provided. A final list ofspecies must be approved by Metro Parks before being purchased. Contract will be based on time frame, project cost, qualifications and best bid of the density and diversity of trees/shrubs per acre. Metro Parks reserves the right to reduce/increase the total acres of the project to fit into the budget goals for this work.
