The Burlington Department of Public Works (DPW) is responsible for maintaining over 95 miles of sewer/combined mains and 59 miles of stormwater mains within the City’s collection system. In an effort to assist with maintenance-related activities as well as data collection, DPW will contract from time to time with outside firms to provide these services. The services required generally consist of obtaining data to determine condition for mains, catch basins and manholes, as well assisting with maintenance activities including main cleaning (jetting and root removal) and locating assets using pipe detection and smoke testing methods.
