Site work for a civil project in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and water / sewer project.
The project includes, but is not limited to: new construction of a 16-inch water line installed by a directional bore under the Black Warrior River with approximately 2,000 linear feet of 30-inch steel encasement pipe and 2,020 linear feet of 16-inch Ductile Iron Carrier Pipe with Flex Ring Joints and a 24-inch water line installed by a directional bore under McFarland Blvd. with approximately 750 linear feet of 36-inch steel encasement pipe and 760 linear feet of 24-inch Ductile Iron Carrier Pipe with Flex Ring Joints. The project is being constructed for the City of Tuscaloosa, which is the awarding authority. PREQUALIFICATION: The prequalification procedure will identify responsible and competent Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) subcontractors relative to the requirements of the Project. Pre-qualification project summary information will be made available to prospective subcontractors on September 8, 2025, by contacting Amy Whitson, Contracts and Compliance Manager, City of Tuscaloosa via email at awhitson@tuscaloosa.com . Only subcontractors who have successfully completed the prequalification process within the stated time limits and are properly licensed in accordance with criteria established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors and under the provisions of Code of Alabama, Section 34- 8-1, et al., as amended, will be considered for the HDD bore work on this Project.
