Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCHC) is seeking a Vendor for the provision of demolition and site grading services at Phase 2A of the Lawrence Heights Phase 2 Revitalization project. TCHC will be awarding to the highest scored Proposal. The revitalization of Lawrence Heights includes demolishing and replacing the social housing buildings constructed in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Revitalization at Lawrence Heights includes replacing 1,208 TCHC units and building over 4,000 new market units, along with new parks, retail space, and roads connecting Lawrence Heights to the surrounding community. The plan to revitalize Lawrence Heights reflects input from residents, neighbourhood organizations, and the City of Toronto, and will occur in four phases. Phase 2 of the Revitalization is located between Varna Drive and Turtle Island Road Intersection to the north and Varna Drive and Flemington Road to the south. TCHC has made commitments to Lawrence Heights residents that broadly fall into two categories: (1) to construct quality housing in a beautiful, animated, and well-functioning environment; and (2) to develop a robust and inclusive social and economic development plan that results in long-lasting social and economic institutions and opportunities.
