TIMELINE: BC Hydro requires the services of an experienced Engineering firm to assist in conducting EMF study for West End Substation project. Services consists of EMF measurements. Modeling and provide mitigation strategies to limit EMF levels. BC Hydro requires the services of an experienced consulting firm to conduct third-party independent electric and magnetic field (EMF) consulting services for the West End Substation project over several years. Services consists of EMF measurements, EMF modeling, and providing mitigation strategies to BC Hydro (and its consultants) during the design of the West End Substation to limit EMF levels in the area above and adjacent to the substation and the area above and adjacent to the 230kV transmission cables to be located in Nelson Park. Overall independent third-party expert EMF advice may also be sought by BC Hydro leading up to and as part of a regulatory filing to the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC). Delivery or completion date is December 2026. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
