The Town of Innisfil is committed to ensuring the health and safety of its workers (employees, contractors and consultants) through the prevention of occupational illness and injury; the promotion of a safe workplace; and compliance with applicable legislation. As part of this commitment, the Town has initiated a program in order to identify and manage designated materials at Town-owned buildings. As part of this program, the successful bidder will be required to complete Designated Substance Survey (DSS) reports on Town-owned buildings, as required throughout the term of this contract. Currently, there are a number of locations that require reports to be completed. Please refer to the highlighted locations in Annex A - Building List and Service Requirements. The Successful Bidder shall provide professional services to conduct a complete DSS. All work executed during a designated substance survey must be in accordance with the current designated substances regulations. At present the list of substances is: 1. Acrylonitrile 2. Arsenic 3. Asbestos 4. Benzene 5. Coke oven emissions 6. Ethylene oxide 7. Socyanates 8. Lead 9. Mercury 10. Silica Vinyl ChlorideIn addition to the regulated designated substances listed above, visual inspections for the following materials is required, unless otherwise directed: 1. Mold (Mould) 2. Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs) 3. Ozone-Depleting Substances (ODSs) 4. Urea Formaldehyde Foam Insulation (UFFI) Assessment work must include the appropriate number of samples needed to verify whether a substance is present or not.
