The Trinity County Department of Transportation, in coordination with the U.S. Forest Service (USFS), is issuing a Request for Bid for a Hazard Tree Removal Project. Project Location: Ruth Zenia Road (County Road 502), Mile Post 5.2 to 8.0 Near Mad River, CA These requirements are detailed throughout all bid documents. Ensure all qualifications and documentation are current and compliant at time of bid submission. The Trinty County Department of Transportation, hereinafter referred to as the Trinty County DOT, is working as a partner to the U.S. Forest Service's Mad River Ranger District. The Trinty County DOT will be administering this contract while the Forest Service will be involved in contract inspections and coordination. The purpose of this contract is to procure services for hire for hand falling of hazardous snags within the CO 502 School Section project area. The project is located on the Mad River Ranger District of the Six Rivers National Forest, near the town of Ruth. Legal description for the project area is T2S R7E Sections 8 & 9. The estimated start work date for all items of this contract is September 30th, 2025. Project shall be completed by December 31st, 2025. Service contract work shall be performed in accordance with the order of preference approved by the COR. The Contractor shall maintain progress at a rate, which will assure quality and completion within the service contract time specified above. The proposed work includes the removal of hazardous snags within the County Road 502 - Ruth Zenia School Section and is further described in Exhibit A. Attachment A refers to Project Activity Level (PAL) which is a support tool designed to help timber resource managers establish the level of industrial precaution for the following day. The PAL requirements are attached to the County contract. No contractor or subcontractor may be awarded a contract for public work on a public works project (awarded on or after April 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The contractor will be required to submit certified payroll to the Department of Industrial Relations and to the County of Trinity for all work. No bid will be considered unless it is made on the Contractor's Bid Form furnished by the County of Trinity. Prevailing wages are required for ALL work on this Contract. Bids are required for the entire work described in the scope of work. A contract for these services will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder. A sample contract is attached to this RFB. Trinity County Code Section 3.08.36B grants a five percent (5%) bid preference to local bidders. The County of Trinity reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any irregularity in any proposal received.
