Infrastructure Ontario (IO), along with the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks and the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development, have prequalified three proponents to design, build, finance and maintain the new Science Facility Complex located in Oakville, Ontario. Teams were prequalified through a Request for Qualifications process that launched in September 2025. Selection criteria included design, construction and facilities management capability, relevant experience, qualified personnel and the financial capacity to undertake a project of this size and scope. Once submissions are received, Infrastructure Ontario, along with MECP and MLITSD, will evaluate the proposals, select a preferred team and then negotiate a final contract. A successful bidder is expected to be announced in late winter 2027. A fairness monitor will oversee the entire procurement process.
