PROJECT DESCRIPTION/SCOPE OF WORK: This project involves hazardous material abatement and reglazing of the TLS Greenhouses (GH-1, GH-2, GH-3) at the University of Connecticut. Work includes removal of all single pane glazing and compression brackets (roof only), cleaning of glass and framing, and reinstallation using approved primer and structuralsilicone sealant systems. Adhesion testing will be performed per ASTM C1521. Scope also includes removal and off-site disposal of approximately 9,900 linear feet of asbestos- and PCB-containing glazing compounds associated with 3,450 glass panes. Bid Security: Provide a copy of a Bid Bond made out in the penalsum of ten percent (10%) of the Total Bid Amount. A Total Bid Amount of $50,000.00 or less does not require a Bid Bond. o Anticipated Contract Issuance/Notice to Proceed: November 14, 2025 o Construction is planned to start: November 17, 2025 SET-ASIDE REQUIREMENTS: The Set-Aside Requirement for this Project is that (1) not less than thirty percent (30%) of the Total Contract Price be awarded to subcontractors who are certified by the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services as "Small Business Enterprises" ("SBEs") and (2) not less than ten percent (10%) of the Total Contract Price be awarded to subcontractors who are certified by the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services as "Minority Business Enterprises" ("MBEs") (the 10% set aside for MBEs may be included in the 30% set aside for SBEs). If the Contractor is an S/MBE, then any self-performed work may be included in the Set-Aside Requirement. The Contractor is responsible for ensuring that they, and the S/MBEs they have selected, are eligible Connecticut-certified S/MBE contractors. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES: Liquidated Damages of Five Hundred Dollars and 00/100 ($500.00) per calendar day shall be assessed if the Contractor fails to achieve Substantial Completion or causes delay to the Substantial Completion of any portion of the work within the Contract Time. PRE-BID CONFERENCE: During the Pre-Bid Conference,the ITB and Scope of Work will be discussed. There also will be an opportunity to view existing conditions (if applicable).
