Site work and renovation of a civil project in Calgary, Alberta. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; and for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

The City of Calgary intends to provide additional long-term water infrastructure in the northwest quadrant of the City to service anticipated population growth. The North Calgary Water Servicing project provides planned servicing redundancy to the existing water transmission system and expands the system to new communities. The Project covers the implementation of both new construction and upgrades to existing infrastructure at the Bearspaw Water Treatment Plant (BWTP), Mountain View Pump Station, Top Hill Reservoir, Big Hill East Reservoir and Beddington Reservoir. The following work packages have an approved total budget of $146M with the last Work Packages finishing in 2028. Pkg 1- Bearspaw High Lift Pump Station 100 ML/d High Lift Pump Station (HLPS) for water distribution for both NCWS and future South Calgary Water servicing (SCWS) system. Approximately 2004m3 of equipment space. 14m deep underground pump room equipped with process equipment, piping valves, instruments, electric motors, and pumps. Bridge crane will be installed for safe and efficient removal and installation of pump room components. Three 50ML/d 3000hp, horizontal split case pumps with space for fourth, all operating using Variable Frequency Drives. Pumps will discharge into two 900mm steel pipes which will connect the HLPS to flow control chamber. Two 13.2/4.16kC, 15 MVA transformers, fed by two spare electrical distribution center gas-insulated switch gear breakers. New 5 kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) to service station. A Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system will ventilate the facility. Two pumps will be provided to pump wastewater to a new gravity sewer which will be installed South of the HLPS. Site improvements, including access roads, parking, retaining structures and landscaping Pkg 2 - Bearspaw Yard Piping and Feedermain Installation of approximately 450 m of 2X 900 mm diameter pipe within the BWTP site. Pkg 3- Research Park Booster Station Construction of a new pump station to provide a redundant feed to the Research Park Pressure Zone. Pump station will be equipped with process equipment, piping valves, instruments, electric motors, and pumps. Anticipated installation of pumps meeting capacities of 3 MLD, 5 MLD, 8 MLD and 14 MLD. Various electrical equipment including switchgear and motor control center. Bridge crane will be installed for safe and efficient removal and installation of pump room components. An air handling unit will ventilate the facility Pkg 4 - Top Hill Reservoir Expansion Construction of 19 ML reinforced concrete storage reservoir at the Top Hill Reservoir site. Reservoir complete with valve house and superstructure. Modification of the existing reservoir cells to establish connection to the new cell. Pkg 5- Big Hill East Reservoir Tie-in Installation of a 750 mm diameter line to establish connection from new NCWS 1650 mm diameter line to the existing Big Hill East Reservoir valve chamber. Installation of a Flow Control Smart Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) with telemetry for control and monitoring at Big Hill East Reservoir Site. Connection is from new NCWS 1650 mm diameter line. Connections for future traditional PRVs to Top Hill Pressure Zone (PZ) and Nose Hill East PZ at Big Hill East Reservoir Site. Supply is from new NCWS 1650 mm diameter line. Pkg 6 - Beddington Reservoir - North Ridge FM Tie-in Installation of 1350 mm diameter line to establish a connection between the Northridge Feedermain, Beddington Reservoir and Beddington feedermain. Flow control Smart Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) with telemetry for control and monitoring at Beddington Reservoir Site. Installation of multiple large diameter valve chambers. Pkg 7-North/South Control Chamber Construction of a new large size cast-in-place chamber to allow pumping 100 ML/d directly from BWTP to either the NCWS Feedermain or the SCWS Feedermain; The chamber will also have provisions for connection to the new Water Treatment Plant (WTP3). Piping into chamber will include a 1500 mm and a 1650 mm diameter pipe servicing SCWS and NCWS respectively, and 1500 mm and 1650 mm diameter stubs for the connection to WT3. Pkg 8 - Energy Reduction Facility Construction of a small building to house Flow Control Smart PRVs with telemetry for control and monitoring at future Energy Reduction Facility location. Pkg 9 - Mountain View Pump Station Capacity Upgrades Addition of a new 20 ML/d pump and upgrade an existing pump's capacity from 9.3 ML/d to 20 ML/d to increase the total pump station capacity to 60 ML/d Two new pump models to replace existing ones. Each pump to have a guaranteed operation point of 20 ML/d flow at 85 m head. Upgrades to pressure release valve, hydraulic actuators, vibration sensors and automated actuated pilot. Replacement of the Switch Gear and Motor Control Center. Replacement of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). Installation of a repurposed modular building to contain all electrical equipment. Though this Request for Qualification, Graham is seeking to pre-qualify a list of experienced subcontractors, capable of compleing a variety of scope of work for the Project. it is indended that Bidders be prequalified to bid on future Request for Proposals or Request for Pricing for the various scopes listed below.
