City of Whitewater- Electronic Sign Introduction The City of Whitewater is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to design, furnish, and install an outdoor electronic digital video sign. The purpose of this sign is to enhance community communication, provide timely information, and improve visibility for city events, programs, and services. Proposals must include options and pricing for the following display sizes: 4' x 8' sign 3' x 7' sign The City's preferred pixel pitch is 10 mm to ensure roadway readability. Vendors may also propose alternate standard sizes or tighter pixel spacing (e.g., 6-8 mm) if they can demonstrate improved performance and value. Scope of Work The selected vendor will be responsible for: Designing, furnishing, and installing a weather-resistant electronic sign structure. Providing hardware, software, and connectivity required for sign operation. Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal codes and regulations. Providing training for City staff in operation and routine maintenance. Offering warranty and ongoing technical support. Visibility & Placement Requirements The sign will be located at 402 W Main St, Whitewater, WI 53190 (see Appendix C - Approximate Sign Location Map). The sign will be installed within 20 feet of the roadway, along a corridor with medium to heavy traffic. The sign must be clearly legible to drivers traveling at 25 mph. Proposals must include specifications and pricing for 4'x8' and 3'x7' signs, with 10 mm pixel pitch. Vendors may also submit alternative standard sizes if they demonstrate equivalent or improved readability. Documentation must include minimum viewing distance, character height, and recommended text-to-background contrast. Vendors must address traffic safety considerations and compliance with local ordinances. Design & Aesthetic Requirements The sign structure must incorporate either "City of Whitewater" branding or the official City logo prominently displayed at the top. The base of the sign must be constructed with brick or brick veneer that is complimentary to existing structures at the site, but does not need to be an exact match. Vendors must provide renderings or design mockups showing how the sign design will integrate with the surrounding architecture.
