Site work and paving for a road / highway in Portage, Indiana. Working plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

As of September 23, 2025 this project has been cancelled. The project is expected to be re-issued under a future solicitation, likely targeting construction in spring 2026. The Project is located in Michigan City, Indiana, and generally consists of constructing an approximately 400-foot extension of Ameriplex Drive, including installation of a storm sewer system. The Work includes furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, supplies, and services necessary to complete the PROJECT as defined in the Contract Documents. Questions from bidders will be received, with written responses issued by Addendum. Written bidder questions must be received by the Engineer no later than 5:00 PM, two (2) business days after the pre-bid meeting. Laughlin, P.E., at 219.872.9407 or by email at RyanLaughlin@HaasLLC.com Bidding Documents may be examined at the following location: Consulting Engineer (Issuing Office), Haas & Associates, LLC, 526 Franklin Street, Michigan City, IN 46360, 219.872.9407. BID SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS:A Bidder shall submit two (2) hard copies and one (1) digital copy (USB flash drive, single combined PDF) of its Bid and all required bid documents. Each Sealed Bid Envelope Shall Be Clearly Marked ameriplex Drive Phase Two Bid Enclosed And Shall Include the Bidder Name, Address, and Contact Information. Each Bid must be accompanied by a certified or cashier check on a solvent bank or trust company payable to the Michigan City Redevelopment Commission, or by an acceptable Bid Bond, in an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the total of the Base Bid plus all Bid Alternates, if any. The bid security of all Bidders, excepting the three lowest, responsive, responsible Bidders, will be returned within thirty (30) days after the opening of Bids. Any Bidder whose security has been retained may, after thirty (30) days, request its return provided they have not been notified of acceptance. The bid security of the successful Bidder will not be returned until delivery of the executed Contract and required bonds. No Bid may be withdrawn for sixty (60) days after the scheduled opening, unless otherwise agreed by the OWNER. The OWNER may consider all other relevant information permitted by law. The OWNER reserves the right to waive informalities or insubstantial defects, to reject any or all Bids, and to accept the Bid which it deems to be in the best interest of the Project. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price, and to furnish Certificates of Insurance as specified in the Contract Documents. Upon completion of the Work, the Contractor shall furnish a Maintenance Bond guaranteeing the Work for the period of time and in the amount specified in the Contract Documents.
