Bid Intent Optional Bid Intent Deadline 09/26/2025 05:00 PM EDT Question Acceptance Deadline 09/26/2025 11:00 AM EDT Questions are submitted online Yes General Requirements - Bid Deposit Required - Certified Payroll - Insurance Required - Prevailing Wage Required Bonding Requirements - Bid Bond 5 % - Performance Bond 10 % Interested bidders are invited to submit via e-mail or BidNet, any questions on this contract to John Deubel at John.Deubel@scwa.com Project I-The work to be done consists of furnishing, unloading, hauling, distributing and installing twelve (12) inch, eight (8) inch, and six (6) inch ductile iron pipe and specials and laying and testing the pipe and specials, making connections to existing pipe line, setting valves and hydrants, excavating and backfilling trenches, power tamping, disposing of surplus material from trenches, temporary restoration, chlorination and returning surplus pipe and other materials furnished by the Authority to the yard of the Authority as directed. All pipe installation work shall be done in accordance with AWWA C600 (latest edition). Project II-The work to be done consists of installing new service taps & vault settings from the existing water main to the customers property line in the designated area in Bellport. This shall include making the tap, installing a stub and/or connecting to the Authority's customer line at or near the property line, and the installation of a meter vault assembly. All of the above work shall include excavating, backfilling, and tamping of service holes, removing, hauling, disposal and replacement of surplus and/or unsuitable fill, paving of holes with hot plant asphalt, raking out and re-seeding disturbed grass areas, in accordance with Authority specifications. All type "K" copper tubing and authority approved CTS poly pipe shall be furnished by the contractor. Omission of any specific details or mention within these specifications shall not be deemed a waiver of contracts obligation to supply adequate labor, equipment, and materials to satisfactorily complete each project. Project III- The work to be done under project III of this contract, in general, shall consist of installing new private water services lines. This will include 1" diameter water services, throughout the designated contamination area within the Suffolk County Water Authorities Service Area in Bellport. In the designated contamination area, there are approximately 24 private service lines that will need to be installed. These water service lines will be installed between the Authorities proposed customers' property line and connected to their internal plumbing by means of Horizontal Directional Drill or missile boring, which will be approved by the Authority Engineer. Once the Authority has set the meter vault, the contractor shall return to determine the customer's internal plumbing size (inside the home) and connect the customers internal plumbing (inside the home) with Type" L" rigid copper tubing to the authority's system, install an expansion tank if one is not present if required by SCWA. The contractor will also have to disconnect and cap the existing well/pump and reconnect the premises electrical ground to the Authority's system or install grounding rods, as required by the New York State Building Code and in compliance with the National Electrical Code. The contractor shall excavate, backfill, and compact all holes properly and in lifts to minimize any settlement of the excavation. The contractor will also be required to dispose of all surplus and/or unsuitable fill, score & temporary pave all asphalt/concrete walks and driveways with hot asphalt and rake out, topsoil, and seed all disturbed grass areas. If sod was disturbed or removed during installation of the private service line the contractor responsible for removing it must replace it in kind. All measurements must be recorded and provided to the Authority from the service installer, by providing a detailed sketch with measurements of the water service from the corners of the building to the end of the service at the property line. All tubing (copper and HDPE), fittings, shut off valves and materials necessary to install the service line/lines will be furnished by the contractor.
