As of January 5, 2026, this project has been awarded to Spartan Construction. Below is the previous closed solicitation: Construction of a new 9,039 square foot New Fire Station Building Scope includes the demolition of the existing Fire District 8 Station 81 facility at the same address. The contractor shall hold a Louisiana Contractors license in Municipal & Public Works Construction and/or Building Construction. Except as otherwise provided in R.S. 37:2163, if the bid does not contain the contractors certification and show the contractors license number on the bid envelope, the bid shall be automatically rejected and shall be returned to the bidder marked Rejected and shall not be read aloud. In accordance with La. R.S. 37:2163, the Contractor shall certify that he holds an active license. The signature on the bid must be that of an authorized representative of the corporation, partnership or other legal entity, as defined by Louisiana Public Bid Law Revised Statute 38:2212.A(1)(c) which dictates parties authorized to submit bids for public contracts. All required Certificates of Liability Insurance shall list the Fire District as an additional insured. All applicable Federal, State, Local laws, ordinance, and rules and regulations of all authorities having jurisdiction over construction of the project shall apply to the contract throughout. All proposals, bids and applications are welcomed. The Fire District encourages participation by Minority, Women-Owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise firms.
