RFP 25-26-026 Welding Contractor for Natural Gas Lines. Contract term: Three years with the option to renew for two additional one-year period. The City of Danville is looking to secure welding contractors to perform onsite work for gas taps or gas main work on steel gas mains as well as shop fabrication of regulator stations and gas meter sets on an as needed basis. Multiple vendors may be awarded. The contract term shall be for three (3) years with the option to renew for two (2) additional one-year periods if agreed upon by both parties. Price increases must be evaluated and approved by the City representative and Purchasing Director prior to the beginning of the renewal period. OSHA compliance documentation must be provided. All work must be scheduled and approved by the Water and Gas Department Director or authorized agent assigned by the Utilities Department Director. Contractor must notify the Water and Gas Department of any personnel changes prior to the work beginning. Work logs and inspection reports while performing work for the City of Danville must be submitted weekly to the Water and Gas Compliance Coordinator. In case of failure on their part to execute the said agreement within ten (10) consecutive calendar days after receipt of the contract documents, the monies payable by the Security accompanying this proposal shall be paid to the City of Danville, Virginia, as liquidated damages for such failure; otherwise, the Security accompanying this proposal shall be returned to the Bidder Last Day for Questions Email questions to purchasing@danvilleva.gov by no later than October 2, 2025 at 5:00 PM.
