Site work and new construction of a municipal facility in Boulder, Colorado. Completed plans call for the construction of a 18,547-square-foot municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.

The Boulder County Public Works Department, Building Services Division is seeking the professional services of a qualified General Contractor to construct, per attached plans and specifications, a new 18,547 square foot building for the Mountain Rescue Group's base of operations. This project has an 8.1% Contract Participation Goal for minority-owned and women-owned business enterprises (MBE/WBE). If you have any questions related to contract participation goals, please email contractgoals@bouldercounty.gov. Question Deadline October 2, 2025 (2:00 pm) Questions Due Date Online Portal The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: 1. New construction and site improvements 2. Project is designed to meet USGBC LEED V4 for BD+C New Construction, Gold Level. The Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, a non-profit organization has been operating out of the existing building, located at 3720 Walnut St. in Boulder for the last 16 years. Because of the increased volunteer participation and changing operational needs they have outgrown their current building, a 2,500 sqft. premanufactured Butler building constructed in the 1960's. The all-volunteer Rocky Mountain Rescue Group (RMRG) has performed mountain search and rescue operations in Colorado for over 75 years. As the sheriff's designated entity for mountain rescue, RMRG's mission is: 1) Technical Mountain Search and Rescue, 2) Outdoor Safety Education, 3) Disaster Response. RMRG responds to more than 150 mountain search and rescue calls per year. The proposed Mountain Rescue Building (building and site) will serve the needs of mountain rescue operations for Boulder County residents and visitors. It includes app bays for emergency response vehicles, training rooms, a training tower/climbing wall for practicing rescues as well as a break room, wellness room and all the storage needs for rescue operations. The facility will be managed by the Boulder County Sheriff's office when completed. The proposed building is 18,547 sf. and will be constructed 18" higher than the current elevation of the site to bring the building out of the 500-year flood plain. This project is designed to be as energy efficient as possible, generating all the energy needed for the operation of this building on-site with solar PV, Geothermal and a ground source heat pump. This is a very constrained site and will require the utmost attention to not disrupt the neighboring properties, especially on the east side where the building has zero lot line status
