Site work for a civil project in West Des Moines, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; and road / highway.
The extent of work on this project is the furnishing of all labor, equipment, and materials for the construction of improvements generally described as follows: Extension of 8" sanitary sewer for connection at an existing sanitary sewer manhole, abandonment of 7814 LF of existing sanitary sewer pipe, abandonment of sixteen sanitary sewer manholes, associated repairs to streets and shared use path, traffic control, and site restoration. All bids shall be made on the form furnished by the City through wdm.ionwave.net and shall be filed on or before the time specified above. Each proposal shall be electronically accompanied by a scanned copy of the bid bond or a scanned copy of a cashier's or certified check drawn on an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. If a bid bond is submitted it must be on the form provided with the contract documents. A physical copy of the bid security will be required to be submitted to the City Clerk's Office by the apparent low bidder within 48 hours of the bid deadline. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price guaranteeing faithful performance of the contract and guaranteeing payment to all persons supplying labor and/or materials in the execution of the work provided for in the contract. Additionally the contractor must provide the City with a guarantee of maintenance of said improvement in the form of surety for a period of four (4) years from the time of acceptance by the City. Work on said project shall commence within ten (10) days of the written notice to proceed and shall be substantially completed by July 31, 2026. This includes all work items except for final restoration. Liquidated damages in the amount of five hundred dollars ($500.00) per day will be assessed for each day that the work remains substantially incomplete after this date. Work on said project shall be fully completed by September 15, 2026.
