Site work for a water / sewer project in Woodstock, New Brunswick. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The existing loading dock concrete catch basin is leaking into the basement and garage area below allowing moisture to migrate from inside the catch basin into the occupied space below. Consultant to complete a site investigation to determine the extent of the issues and provide recommendations in the form of a Technical Investigation prior to completing the design. Removal of the existing paint and residue off of the concrete catch basin may be required in order to determine the extent of the cracking in the concrete. Consultant to consider if another form of drainage can be implemented for this area rather than a catch basin. The catch basin has a significant amount of mechanical and electrical infrastructure surrounding it inside the building. Consultant to review the current condition of all mechanical and electrical infrastructure and determine whether or not replacement is required due to water infiltration/moisture from the leaking catch basin. Consultant shall be responsible for retaining any specialized subtrades (mechanical contractor, electrical contractor etc.) required to complete this review. For example: electrical contractor to open and inspect panelboard. At a minimum, if replacement isn't required, temporary relocation of services will be required during construction. Review of all pipe penetrations to ensure they are properly sealed where needed. Report from 2018 will be provided to the awarded consultant for reference purposes only. Consultant Tasks: Conduct site investigation and provide a Technical Investigation. Assess mechanical and electrical infrastructure surrounding the catch basin. Recommend alternative drainage solutions. Retain specialized subtrades (e.g., electrical contractor to inspect panelboard). Ensure proper sealing of pipe penetrations. Consider heritage values and character-defining elements during design Official bid documents must be obtained from www.bgis.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
