Project Overview This project involves the demolition and replacement of an existing vehicle access ramp located at Amtrak Commissary 1500 S. Lumber. The new ramp will be designed to support vehicle loads, meet local building and safety codes, and ensure durable and safe operation. 2. Objectives Safely demolish and dispose of the existing ramp. Construct a new vehicle ramp capable of supporting intended traffic and load types. Improve durability, safety, and drainage of the ramp structure. Minimize disruption to nearby operations or traffic. 3. Scope of Work Demolition and Site Preparation Secure the work area to ensure safety and control traffic during demolition. Remove the existing ramp structure, including surface material, sub-base, and any damaged adjacent features. Dispose of all demolition debris in accordance with local regulations. Ramp Construction Construct new ramp using Aluminum sections with grip strips. Ensure ramp slope, curvature, and surface texture are suitable for vehicle traffic. Install necessary sub-base and reinforcement to support vehicle loads. Form and install structural system. Incorporate edge protection, curbs, or barriers as required by design. Ensure adequate drainage systems to prevent water pooling or erosion. Deliverables Demolition and disposal documentation. As-built drawings or sketches (if required). Completed ramp, constructed to specification. Final walkthrough and acceptance by owner or project manager. A mandatory in-person site visit will be scheduled. A date and time will be provided when the official solicitation is launched.
