The Municipality of Colchester is seeking proposals from qualified consulting firms to deliver third-party project management services to oversee the design and construction of a pedestrian bridge across the Salmon River at the Fundy Discovery Site. The bridge was awarded to Wood Research & Development (WRD) and Timber Restoration Services (TRS) in July 2025 and a subsequent CCDC Design-Build contract is to be signed in September 2025. The project will include the design and construction of a 110 meter long, 6-meter-wide wooden bridge structure spanning the Salmon River at the Fundy Discovery Site in Lower Truro. The superstructure of the bridge will be supported by three in-stream timber piers that have received approval from the federal Department of Fisheries and Oceans. Other relevant permits have been acquired from the Nova Scotia Departments of Public Works and Natural Resources.
