Renovation of a municipal facility in London, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a six-story above grade, one-story below grade municipal facility.
Full fire separation repairs for all six storeys, a full basement, and two rooftop service penthouses (mechanical and elevator) - seal all known and accessible penetrations within the wall, ceiling, and floor systems which are identified as being fire separations while making the fire separations code compliant. Replace or upgrade doors and windows where existing installations have insufficient fire ratings and create new partitions where the existing layout does not meet code requirements. The deficiencies of the current fire separation system pose potential health and safety hazards to occupants and damage to a Classified Federal Heritage Building. The project aims to provide a long-term solution that meets current National Building Code and National Fire Code requirements, while respecting the building's heritage values and conserving its character-defining elements.
